Why feed a bland diet?

Canine patients who are experiencing gastrointestinal upset, or have had surgery, are often recommended to start a “bland diet”. An easily digestible meal consisting of one part lean protein to three parts carbohydrate is often fed for two to three days, allowing the patient’s gastrointestinal system time to recover.  These freshly prepared diets are ready to serve according to the recommendations of your veterinarian.  Considering the limited ingredients, Tully's Bland diets are intended for short term use only and you should gradually return your dog to its regular diet as they begin to recover.
